Misc talk29 May 2006
Hmmmm, not much has been done in the last 2 weeks, messing around with the savestate code for SMSAdvance. I got a dude (Florence?, thanks a lot) betatesting it every now and then, and he found some other smal glitches & erros as well. The postal office seem to have lost my Brain Age game and a GBAMP somewhere between here and Lik-Sang... I thought I was going to test stuff on the DS soon (though I can use my old flashcarts I wanted to test the CF stuff now), oh well. And there is a new SNES emulator for the GBA (for those that have missed it) called Snezziboy. I haven't tested it yet as I have had enough just doing SMSAdvance, but I will test it very soon.

MSX Basic23 April 2006
I have now added a virtual keyboard which also is used to remap the GBA keys,
32kB RAM is available now which means the Basic can be used, I struggled a lot with
Kings Valley II which refused to work when I added the RAM, but I finally fixed that as well.
I'm also messing around with the html on this page, I hope it still works.

MSXAdvance and more20 April 2006
I've got the sound to work correctly with both the AY and the SCC chip, will release it as soon as I get something more done. I don't have much time to code at home right now, I've started working at a new company and it takes most of my time right now. Don't worry just yet though as I still have a lot of things to do on the GBA =). And eh, I'm not doing anything relating to C64 emulation if anybody thought that, sorry about mentioning the dumping of my old C64 discs, it was just something that had to be done. Oh, got a CD (a real CDDA!) for my birthday from my gf yesterday, LE SPORT, now go download some of their music. The best part is on the back of the CD where it says: This disc contains all the songs plus bonus tracks in the mp3 format for easy sharing and listening with modern technology. And the tracks are 192kb/s so they are good quality as well.
MSXAdvance SCC12 April 2006
I said something about SCC not being possible to a few people, well, it wasn't that hard to implement,
kind of like a cheap version of the PC-Engine sound chip.
I still need to tweak it a little bit I think, and maybe optimise it some more, handle both soundchips and so on.
To the people from msx.org, I read the forum and listen to what you have to say even though I don't write there =).
MSXAdvance V0.131 March 2006

I just have to tease you some more before I release the MSX emulator :P.
I've fixed up most of the sound, I think all functionality should be emulated correctly, some games still sound bad though.
I added a new scaling mode which looks quite nice if I may say so =).

Black Tiger ready16 November 2005
The first version of my Black Tiger emulator is ready for download, the biggest showstoper might be the naming of the roms... MAME has changed the name of the roms quite recently I think so I might have to do some new batch files for the old names as well.

Black Tiger11 November 2005
Been messing around with a Black Tiger emulator, don't know if I can make it totaly playable on the GBA though... The reason I started with it is that I've also been optimising the MAME emu for the GP32.

U230 July 2005
I was at the U2 concert at Ullevi stadium here in Gothenburg yesterday and it rocked the socks off of everyone who was there. Probably a little better than Metallica last year. The SMS emulator is more or less finnished now and it will probably be called SMSAdvance, still no builder though, if anyone wants a preview version for Pogo just mail me.

Phantasy Star21 July 2005
Most of the SMS emulator are in working condition now, it plays Phantasy Star without a hitch which was one of the major reasons for making my own (and it has multiboot support also). Now I just need to make/get hold of a builder for it, anyone interested in helping out?

Mr. Duh!11 July 2005
The results from the GBAX.COM 2005 competition are online, and that means I can release a new version of the Green Beret emu here, so V0.2 is now on the download page. I didn't win anything this time, so to celebrate that I also release a "Mr. Do!" arcade emulator =).

JP magazine5 July 2005
Clarification for the news sites that didn't understand yesterdays post... The NES uses a 6502 cpu, Green Beret and Mr Do! uses a Z80 cpu, the part about the DAA instruction on the Z80 cpu was not about PocketNES. Anyway, I got a question some time ago from a Japanese magazine if they could include my emulators on a cover CD, and I said of course, but can you please send me a copy of the magazine as well? And wada ya know... it showed up yesterday, I don't think I understand a word in it but it seem really cool if you can understand Japanese.

PNES fixes2 July 2005
Hmmm the verdict of the gbax.com competition seem to take a long time, anyway I fixed a little thing with the IRQs on PocketNES which affected Guardian Legend. I've also fixed the DAA instruction on the Z80 cpu core so it should be quite complete now (clears all the test on ZEXALL SMS version).
Polishing22 June 2005
Back from the vacation, the cpu is fixed up (except for the DAA instruction) and I've also added sound and MultiBoot so you can share Green Beret with your friends (if you have any ;), I will release it as soon as the compo winners are anounced.
GBAX entries9 June 2005
The entries from the GBAX 2005 competition can be downloaded now. I will release a new version in a week or two, going on vacation to Bulgaria now =).
Green Beret it is31 May 2005
It's a "Green Beret"/"Rush'n Attack" arcade emulator, not much to show the world, I know... But it's a good start to test out the Z80 emulator so I can build more emulators with it. It still has some annoying bugs in it but I'll hopefully fix them soon enough. I have sent in a version to the GBAX.COM 2005 competition, I don't know when the results are released and I won't release a version here before the competition is over.

More arcade24 May 2005
Been poking around with a Z80 cpu emulator, first one to guess which game gets one point =). Ofcourse I've been to the movies and watched Star Wars III, as usual George Lucas directing is under par but it's a nice action/adventure movie and the link to the first 3 movies (or should that be the 3 old movies?). If you want to see an action flick with some heart in it go and see "Unleashed" ("Danny the Dog" in EU) instead.

Rumble Pong8 April 2005
I have implemented rumble in the Renegade emulator, but I got sidetracked for some time with documenting it and making an example game, Rumble Pong.
This was just so that other people can understand the code without having to wade through the emulator code. Oh, if anyone is interested in the Renegade emulator please mail me and say so.
Rumble in the Player31 March 2005
I have finaly figured out how the rumble works in the Gameboy Player. Just have to tidy it up and then also put it in the Renegade emu =)
Also there are now 4 DS emulators of which 3 are released, I haven't tested any of them yet though.
And no, none of them plays any commercial games yet.

Jaleco still around?4 March 2005
It seems that Jaleco/PCCW are still looking for new updates to PocketNES.
So, Jaleco if you want me to implement anything special (like a mapper for one of your games) just tell me.
Or you can just send me and Loopy an email and say thanks at least.
And GBAFAN has reopened with a new layout and an interview with me =).
New HP layout26 February 2005
I decided to change the layout of this page to be able to write some boring stuff, instead of just having a download page.
PCEAdvance is updated to V7.3, lots of small stuff fixed and optimized, mostly noticable
in the menus but also a little faster on some games.
Use the bar to the left to reach the download page.
